In Memory of Ryan Michael Oehl
5/19/92 - 10/28/14
5/19/92 - 10/28/14
This run is held every May to commemorate the life of Ryan Michael Oehl - a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.
Those who walk and run in Ryan's name, or another friend or family member's name, will help us set the pace for mental health awareness. Ryan was always the funniest, sweetest, kindest person in the room. Yet, like countless others, he was fighting a great battle inside, one that he didn't think other people would empathize with, respect or understand. It's time we change that. Sadly, Ryan committed suicide on October 28th, 2014, leaving Ryan's family and those that knew and love him completely heartbroken.
We want to share Ryan's story and remove the stigma on mental illness. We can't do it alone, we need your help. Together we can learn more about the importance of mental health and put the stigma to rest. Are you with us?
As a community, let's encourage our family, friends, and neighbors to fight the stigma on mental health and be brave enough to start a conversation that matters.
With Love,
The Oehl Family
